A royal engagement

Woodhead One engineers were on standby when the Royal Family visited Nottingham. The engineers were required to conduct a safety check of the Council House to ensure her visit went smoothly. Woodhead One provided lift engineers, fire alarm and intruder alarm engineers as well as heating engineers. The operatives were assigned to a policing unit and swapped their traditional uniform for shirts and ties. We are pleased to report that the visit went without a hitch.

Rapid response to minimise impact of school fire

Woodhead One operatives were called to Sneinton, St Stephens School following a fire. Woodhead One mobilised two operatives who responded to this call out within 27 minutes to ensure electrical isolation and to make the site safe including joinery repairs. At the time of the fire the school was undergoing renovation works, our rapid response enabled construction work to resume with minimal impact on programme.

Christmas Call Out

Woodhead One responds to emergency calls 365 days a year, 24/7 including Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Last Christmas saw Woodhead One engineers called out to Meadow House in Mansfield, which is the local social services head office for the County Council. A Woodhead One operative on call initially went out to make the building safe. We then had to co-ordinate glaziers to repair the entrance which had been badly damaged. This call out needed very prompt attention due to the nature of the building and the secure and confidential records held there.
