Woodhead Back World Homeless Day

Construction company Woodhead, is partnering with specialist homelessness charity, Framework Housing to support World Homeless Day 2015.

Taking place on Saturday 10 October, World Homeless Day aims to raise awareness of homelessness both locally and across the world to fight stigma, promote understanding and give opportunities allowing people to move away from homelessness.

Robert Woodhead is currently working on two housing projects in Nottingham, to deliver much needed accommodation for Framework. Woodhead has delivered numerous projects for Framework across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, and are currently on site at Pedmore Valley in Bestwood comprises the construction of 16 new flats and is now well underway. The roof has been completed this week and internally the first fix has now started with plasterers, joiners and electricians working in succession.

Work has also just begun on a second site on Woodborough Road. Demolition and site clearance is due to start next week to make way for the construction of a further 11 flats.

As part of Framework’s World Homeless Day Appeal 2015, Robert Woodhead will be match funding regular donations up to the total value to £1,000 for WHD weekend, on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October.

Woodhead will also be sponsoring Framework’s ‘Home to Me’ photography competition, entrants are being invited to capture a picture showing what home means to them.

Woodhead’s site teams from across Nottinghamshire have also been helping to raise awareness of World Homeless day by taking ‘Roof Selfies’ for Framework’s social media campaign.

“It’s great that we are also able to work on housing projects which will improve the life of vulnerable people locally.”
