Robert Woodhead Limited are currently on site at Ravenshead C of E School in Nottingham delivering a complex refurbishment project. The project involves removing asbestos, installing new suspended cleanings, provision of new lighting throughout, upgrading the kitchen and replacing 4 external lamp posts.
Robert Woodhead welcomed eight excited visitors to site on Wednesday 21st August from Ravenshead After School Club. The youngsters who attend the After School club, located only a few meters away from the busy site were escorted by Site Manager Maurice Wardle who talked with them about the building work that is being carried out. The visitors were tasked with counting how many new lights have been installed with a prize for the winner. Georgiana Harrington Aged 11 was the lucky winner and received a book voucher from the contractors. For some children they were lucky enough to be the first ones in their newly refurbished classrooms.
The project which was secured through the EMPA Minor Works Framework is due to be completed at the end of August. Mark Maisey, Project Co-ordinator commented on the project.
“We will be on site next week to help get all the desks and equipment back in place, the team have been working 16 hour shifts 7 days a week to make sure the project is finished and handed over in time for the new school term. At the peak over 20 local operatives have been involved in the project including our Apprentice Christopher Richards. We are committed to providing local employment opportunities and 100% of labour on this project has been sourced within 20 miles of the site so far which is a great achievement”
“Over the course of the project we have been committed to minimising disruption to the School Club and local residents, we have installed a separate entrance to the site so the After School Club can arrive and leave safely.”
