Pinfold Lane, Ruskington development received a Highly Commended Award under the Committed to Collaborative Working category at the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Awards.
Pinfold Lane, Ruskington an affordable housing development received a Highly Commended Award under the Committed to Collaborative Working category at the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) prestigious ‘Committed to Construction in the East Midlands Awards’ that took place on Friday 30th March 2012.
Glenn Slater, Business Development Director at Robert Woodhead Ltd commented, “We are delighted that the work we have done together on Pinfold Lane has been recognised with this Highly Commended award. Although the name on the certificate reads Robert Woodhead Ltd, it is clear that we could not have achieved the results without an enlightened client like North Kesteven District Council. The way in which the Council approached the project empowered Robert Woodhead employees to perform to the best of their ability. Everyone enjoyed working with the Council on the project.”
Russell Shortland of North Kesteven District Council highlighted, “We recognise the effort needed to achieve such high standards and are proud to be associated with Robert Woodhead’s success.”
The project was completed by Robert Woodhead Ltd in partnership with North Kesteven District Council, SCAPE and EMPA.
It involved to transformation of an awkwardly shaped derelict orchard surrounded by houses and with challenging access into a cul-de-sac of five homes well-designed and located to achieve the most suitable and aesthetic fit. They are a mix of bungalows and houses built to sustainability level Code 4 – in excess of industry standards
Councillor Marion Brighton OBE, Leader of North Kesteven District Council said the authority’s pride as a pioneer of a new era in council house building was reflected through constructive partnerships with quality contractors such as Woodheads.
“The attention to detail Woodhead’s so painstakingly employed at Pinfold Lane included the provision of bird and bat boxes, spare light bulbs and tiles, detailed instructions for all fittings and appliances and contact details of the trades people who fitted them. At every level we enjoyed positive relations with Woodhead, from start to finish and especially appreciated their collaboration with and consideration of the local community.”
“They finished on site a month ahead of schedule, delivered first-class results and left a strong legacy not only in the homes they built but the collaborate and pragmatic way they handled every aspect of the project with our officers.”
