The breakfast wrap from Getting Decarbonisation Done!

Robert Woodhead Ltd recently held a breakfast seminar on ‘Getting Decarbonisation Done’ with talks from Bassetlaw District Council and Bolsover District Council discussing public and residential decarbonisation projects, respectively.

Firstly, Robert ‘Mack’ Craighead from Bassetlaw District Council talked about the Kilton Forest Golf Club project which has helped to reduce carbon emissions by more than 70%, avoiding over 43 tonnes of CO2eq emissions a year, by replacing an outdated heating system and installing energy efficiency measures.

Secondly, Catherine Platts from Bolsover District Council talked about the New Bolsover Model Village project which involved the improvement of 194 properties to increase their energy efficiency, resulting in some impressive energy saving statistics such as a 53% decrease in energy usage in 2019.

The breakfast was supplied by the Hidden Gem Cafe, who produced a lower carbon breakfast with the following items:

  • Bacon Cobs – Butchers Bacon
  • Sausage Cobs – Butchers Sausage
  • Quorn Sausage Cobs
  • Porridge portions
  • Mixed fruit portions – fresh local fruit
  • Croissants
  • Danish pastries
