Introducing Scape Venture

Scape Venture is a fully managed framework designed to ensure that your privately funded project will deliver a positive impact within your community. The framework provides a responsible procurement experience that delivers speed, value for money, inclusive social value and enhanced performance management by blending the very best of public and private sector expertise. Scape Venture is a subsidiary of Scape Group, the market leader in public sector procurement (scapegroup.co.uk). Over the last 10 years, Scape Group has successfully delivered more than 12,000 projects for over 600 public sector clients with a total combined value of over £4.5bn. Woodhead Group first joined Scape frameworks in 2003, since then we have delivered over 1,800 projects for over 50 clients including the UK’s first Scape Venture project, the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre (read our project case study). During this time, we have delivered exceptional social value on the most recent Scape framework:

  • Created 182 new jobs
  • Provided 162 work experience placements
  • Facilitated 9 apprenticeships

Who can use Scape Venture?

Scape Venture is designed to deliver a high-level of performance for private companies including local authority owned private companies, charities and joint venture partnerships to deliver projects in the built environment. Organisations must meet all of the following criteria:

  • 50% or less public financed (unless acting purely commercially).
  • 50% or less public administered/ managed/ supervised (unless acting purely commercially).
  • Public part cannot have a casting vote on decisions (unless acting purely commercially).

Arc Partnership

Arc Partnership is a Joint Venture between Nottinghamshire County Council and Scape Group, providing services from inception and brief through to handover and beyond; including property design and delivery, programme management and planned and reactive maintenance. Bringing together an expert team from across the public and private sectors, they’ve delivered over 1,000 projects – from small refurbishments to a new 900-place school – with a combined value of over £116m.
